October 16, 2024 – Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP), along with the members of its local value chain network, received multiple awards for their notable contributions to economic development and environmental sustainability from the City Government of Santa Rosa.

In the ‘Lion Awards’ categories, TMP was distinguished with the highest recognition – the Top Business Taxpayers’ Hall of Famer, and the Top 1 Manufacturer for its significant contributions to the city’s robust fiscal performance.

On top of the recognition for its economic impact, TMP earned ‘GREEN Awards’ including the Sustainable Development Partner award for its active engagement in the city’s environmental efforts. Additionally, TMP received the Earth Hour Advocate award for its participation in the annual Earth Hour movement, an event which aims to raise awareness on energy consumption and its environmental effects by encouraging participants to switch off non-essential electric lights.

The City Government of Santa Rosa held the ‘Grand Awards Night’ to serve as a joint ceremony for the ‘Lion Awards for Business’ and the ‘GREEN Awards,’ which recognize businesses and organizations that contribute to Santa Rosa City’s economic growth and pursuit of sustainability, respectively.

In the same event, several organizations among the local Toyota network members that received awards are: Toyota Motor Philippines Logistics, Inc. - Top 7 Business Taxpayer; Toyota Santa Rosa, Laguna, Inc. (dealership) - Top 8 Business Taxpayer and Top 1 Retailer, Lessor, or Sub-lessor; Toyota Aisin Philippines, Inc. - Earth Hour Advocate; Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology, Inc. - Earth Hour Advocate.

These awards reflect Toyota’s multiplier effect in its entire value chain, as well as its commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, contributing to the holistic development of the City of Santa Rosa.

While supporting the Philippine automotive and parts manufacturing industries in the upstream, TMP also aims to effect downstream economic impact to various sectors with the local production of the light commercial vehicle Next Generation Tamaraw inside the Toyota Special Economic Zone (TSEZ) in Laguna.

In the same plant, TMP produces the multi-purpose vehicle Innova and passenger car Vios – a participating model under the Philippine government’s Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) program
